\"\"<\/a>It\u2019s Spiderbait as you have never seen them before! <\/strong>The band have been immortalized as puppets in their latest video for \u2018It\u2019s Beautiful\u2019<\/a><\/strong>. The video is directed and produced by Toby Angwin <\/strong>and stars specially created anime\/manga style puppets of each band member that they helped to create. The puppets wander through the alleyways of Melbourne, discovering unexpected objects of beauty along the way.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe brief for the video was the Wabi-sabi idea of beauty in imperfection. \u00a0Other than that it was pretty open. \u00a0We just didn\u2019t want the idea being too literal\u201d says Janet of the story behind the video. \u00a0\u201cIt ended up being a pretty sentimental love fest about Melbourne. \u00a0Melbourne was the city we started playing punk music in, it embraced us, so it\u2019s a very special place to all of us in the band. \u00a0It\u2019s a great place to be an artist or musician.\u201d<\/p>\n

The video is just another extension of the creativity we have been enjoying from Spiderbait since their return, with Kram revealing the album artwork<\/a> \u00a0on Facebook with a personal message to fans. \u201cDan the man\u201d Newton (music writer and Spiderbait fan) came up with his own retrospective journey<\/a> on all things Spiderbait and Janet created the \u201cunofficial video for \u2018It\u2019s Beautiful\u2019<\/a> whilst the official video was being made.<\/p>\n

\u2018It\u2019s Beautiful\u2019 <\/strong>is the first \u2018official\u2019 single to be lifted from Spiderbait\u2019s forthcoming self-titled album, \u2018Spiderbait\u2019<\/strong>, which is out November 15.\u00a0 The new single which showcases Janet’s unmistakable vocals, follows on from the gutsy debut track \u2018Straight Through The Sun\u2019<\/strong><\/a> that was offered as a free download for fans.<\/p>\n

\u2018Spiderbait\u2019<\/strong> is the first studio album from the band in 8 years since 2004\u2019s platinum-selling and ARIA #14 album, \u2018Tonight Alright\u2019<\/strong>. The album was produced by Francois Tetaz (Gotye & Bertie Blackman) and Kram.<\/p>\n

Across their lengthy career, Spiderbait have sold over half a million albums to date with 5 Top 20 albums<\/strong> in Australia.\u00a0 In 1996 the band took out the top spot on Triple J\u2019s Hottest 100 with \u2018Buy Me a Pony\u2019<\/strong>. This was the first time an Australian band had achieved this. They have since won 2 ARIA Awards<\/strong>, been nominated for 19 ARIA Awards<\/strong>, and scored a #1 ARIA chart single<\/strong> with their legendary track \u201cBlack Betty\u201d.<\/strong><\/p>\n
