The band did a farewell run around the country with previous singer Clint Boge<\/strong> last year before re-emerging for the release of the DVD Effected<\/em>, which topped the ARIA charts last month<\/strong>. With most expecting the band to extend their hiatus following its success, the band shocked fans with the mysterious posting of live dates last week and the signing of new management, leading to speculation as to their future plans.<\/p>\n

Galagher was chosen through an extensive search of vocalists across the country<\/strong> for someone who could fit both the band\u2019s ethos and its demanding repertoire and touring schedule.

\n\u2018Eyes Down\u2019 features The Occupants<\/strong> (and ex-Cog) vocalist Flynn Gower<\/strong> on backing vocals and in a nod to their loyal fans, the track has been gifted to those on the band\u2019s mailing list<\/strong>.

\n\u201cOur fans are what keep us going,\u201d said The Butterfly Effect<\/strong> drummer Ben Hall<\/strong>. \u201cMany of them have been with us from the start and they are as much a part of The Butterfly Effect as what we are, so it\u2019s important for us to give back to them as we move into the next stage. \u2018Eyes Down\u2019 has moved a little more towards our original sound, so we\u2019re taking it back to our roots- small venues and indie ethos to prove ourselves again.\u201d

\nApart from the release of \u2018Eyes Down\u2019, Galagher will be keeping a low profile leading up to the shows.

\n\u201cIt\u2019s about introducing him to people in our natural environment\u2014on the stage,\u201d said Hall<\/strong>. \u201cEveryone will get to know Paul in time, but he\u2019ll be walking on stage in Brisbane for the first time and we\u2019ll let the band do the talking\u2014just like we always have.\u201d
