\n<\/a>From tour release: One of the UK\u2019s most exciting new bands, rock quartet Peace, is gearing up to tour Australia for the first time, playing east coast shows throughout September. Being nominated as BBC\u2019s Artist of 2013 and NME\u2019s Best New Band is just a start for these four young upstarts from Birmingham.<\/p>\n

Peace released their debut album \u2018In Love\u2019 in March 2013.The album was produced by Jim Abiss (of Adele and Arctic Monkeys fame). The recording is a meticulously crafted collection of riff-based pop and heart wrenching ballads that stands in a spectacular lineage of British greats.<\/p>\n

Having developed their stage presence plugging away in Birmingham, playing gigs for their friends and causing havoc in the local indie discos, the foursome will be performing at major festivals across the globe including Glastonbury, T in The Park, Summersonic, Reading and Leeds, Electric Picnic and Bestival before taking their sound to Australian audiences.<\/p>\n

We had Peace answer some questions for us, check them out!<\/p>\n

To start, I have to ask, it\u2019s simple, it\u2019s effective, but the how did you decide on \u2018Peace\u2019 as the name of\u00a0the band?<\/strong>
\nIt was a fairly easy decision. We all agreed mutually that it felt right.<\/p>\n

You\u2019re heading to Australia for the first time as a band this September, what should we expect to see\u00a0at your shows when you hit our shores?<\/strong>
\nSome form of magic.<\/p>\n

Besides the shows, what\u2019s the one thing you\u2019re looking forward to about coming Down Under?<\/strong>
\nThe puggles. Echidna Puggles.<\/p>\n

For someone who hasn\u2019t had the privilege of hearing you guys, how would you best describe the\u00a0sound of the band?<\/strong>
\nSometimes loud, Sometimes quiet. Beautifully confused.<\/p>\n

You released your debut album \u2018In Love\u2019 earlier this year to huge praise in the UK, how does that feel\u00a0as a band to get the kind of accolades you received?<\/strong>
\nIt goes down very well.<\/p>\n

With only your EP Delicious out prior, going in to making the album did you do anything differently\u00a0for the album and its creation compared to your EP?<\/strong>
\nNot particularly. I guess we were a bit more streamlined in getting what we wanted.<\/p>\n

You worked with Jim Abiss as producer, best known for his work with Adele and Arctic Monkeys,\u00a0what did he bring to the table that you may not have thought of doing for the album?<\/strong>
\nHe was the first person to show us what we actually sound like. He got us to play in a room & then played it back to us & was like “voila”.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u2018Lovesick\u2019 is a great catchy track from the album that\u2019s for sure, is there a story behind it that you\u00a0can share with us?<\/strong>
\nI didn’t think it was a good song at first. I guess that’s a story.<\/p>\n

Influence wise, who would you sight as your major influences in what helped to shape the band?<\/strong>
\nI have no idea. We all like too much to really go into it. It’s a real mindbender.<\/p>\n

You\u2019ve graced the stage at a number of festivals in your time together, but in particular how was it\u00a0playing at Glastonbury?<\/strong>
\nGlastonbury was great. Bit of a box ticked I guess.<\/p>\n

Being together for four years now, what do you feel you have learned in this time together as a\u00a0band?<\/strong>
\nZilch. Still searching for the answer.<\/p>\n

Lastly, what does the remainder of 2013 have in store for Peace?<\/strong>
\nMore of everything.<\/p>\n
