In short, this will be an enormously entertaining day celebrating music and musicians in all their myriad hues.<\/p>\n

One very special limited edition offer for Record Store day is from Grammy award winning Gotye<\/strong><\/a>!<\/strong> who is supporting Record Store Day<\/strong> across the world.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u201cAs a lover and supporter of vinyl and all good music stores, I am releasing a strictly limited edition 12″ hot pink 180 gsm vinyl single of ‘State Of The Art’ in celebration of Record Store Day in Australia on April 20!\u201d\u00a0 He said.<\/em><\/p>\n

Sydney<\/strong> – Iconic Red Eye <\/a>in Sydney’s York Street will showcase Bored Nothing<\/a>, who play “washed out 90’s guitar music on a little 4-track”. Likely to be another live band and lots of limited edition specials.<\/p>\n

Richmond <\/strong>– Baylou <\/a>and Jayne Denham<\/a> are playing live at Richmond Records<\/a>, Richmond, NSW, for a double whammy of country music. \u00a0Baylou at noon and Jayne Denham at 1pm. Both will perform and sign their new albums. Plus there is 20% off storewide.<\/p>\n

Sydney – Mojo Record Ba<\/a>r on York Street Sydney will have five DJs from 2SER playing vinyl sets from 2pm, plus there’s a live broadcaston 2SER from the store bteween 6 and 9pm. \u00a0And yes, they plan to have as many ltd edition releases as they can lay their hands on too.<\/p>\n

Sydney – <\/strong>The Record Crate<\/a> in Glebe, Sydney is running a special screening of Last Shop Standing<\/a>, the official movie of Record Store Day in the UK. \u00a0Tickets from Moshtix<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Mona Vale<\/strong> – Audio Boutique<\/a> in Mona Vale, Sydney is offering to professionally clean vinyl records for $2 each. You can leave the records for the store team to clean while you flip through the racks, do it yourself or even hire the audio desk cleaner to take it home for a while. If you’re really, really keen you can buy your own!<\/p>\n

St Mary\u2019s<\/strong> – St Mary’s Sound in St Mary’s in western Sydney will offer a classical music bonus on Record Store Day Australia. Buy any classical CD or DVD instore and get a free double classical promotional DVD.<\/p>\n

Canberra <\/strong>– Giant secondhand record fair out of the front of the store at Landspeed Records<\/a> in Canberrra, with more than 2000 secondhand records. \u00a0Plus DJs spinning nothing but vinyl all day.<\/p>\n

Canberra<\/strong> – Got any LPs, cassettes or vinyl you don’t want? \u00a0Take them into Songland <\/strong><\/a>at Cooleman Court, Weston (ACT) and stand by for a HUGE sale, all weekend on 21 and 22 \u00a0April. All<\/em><\/strong> <\/em>proceeds are going to the RSPCA (not to Songland) and Frog at Songland will use the money to buy actual stuff for the dogs and cats at the local shelter. Like toys and blankets and treats.<\/p>\n

Newcastle’s <\/strong>Odditorium Vintage & Vinyl<\/a> is offering live local music, record listening booths, vintage clothing sale and “so many freaking records for y’all to go nuts over”.<\/p>\n

VICTORIA
\n<\/span><\/strong>Melbourne<\/strong> Dixons Recycled <\/a>across Melbourne are offering 20% of all stock on the day, and if you spend more than $75 you get a free canvas tote to lug your swag home in.<\/p>\n

Echuca <\/strong>– Leading Edge Echuca promises big discounts on CDs and vinyl. More info from Chris at the store. And if you’re in Echuca on hols on 20 April please feel free to check him out. He says lots of their customers are tourists!<\/p>\n

QUEENSLAND
\n<\/span><\/strong>Brisbane : <\/strong>Tyms Guitars: Starting at around 10am Tyms Guitars will be having five (or more) bands including one of the greatest bands to ever walk these grounds playing their ONLY live show in Brisbane THIS YEAR, and it’s FREE and ALL AGES. THE NATION BLUE will be making the\u00a0pilgrimage up from Melbourne especially to play in the shop for this great day. Also, EMPERORS are coming all the way from WA to give some of their fuzzy anthemic pop and from\u00a0Wollongong, Rock ‘n’ Roll animals, BRUCE. There \u00a0will also be some local bands including ROKU MUSIC, Add to this a plethora of RSD vinyl releases and LOTS and LOTS of new vinyl coming in especially for the day, and you’ve got yourself a hell of a day. There will be prizes, giveaways ………… and a sausage sizzle.<\/p>\n

Brisbane <\/strong>– Record Exchange<\/a> in Brisbane will be offering buy 3 and get 2 free, or fill a bag for $5 or fill a bigger bag for $10. \u00a0Most are pre loved but they have around 200,000 in stock, of which around 60,000 are new. Yep, that’s not a mistake. It’s a pretty big stock. There genuinly has to be ‘something for everyone’!<\/p>\n

SOUTH AUSTRALIA
\n<\/span><\/strong>Adelaide<\/strong> – Hilltop Hoods<\/a> are signing at Blackwood Sound<\/a> in Adelaide with Golden Era giveaways, plus live performances from Brillig <\/a>(folk\/roots), The Wild Things and Geordie Little<\/a> (acoustic guitar), plus exclusive vinyl, CD specials and giveaways.<\/p>\n

WESTERN AUSTRALIA
