Thirty Seconds To Mars<\/strong> new single \u201cUp In The Air\u201d <\/strong>will be launched <\/strong>into space tomorrow. The band members <\/strong>will be in Florida to watch the launch of <\/strong>the second SpaceX cargo mission to the International Space Station. The company’s Falcon 9 rocket carrying its Dragon cargo capsule is scheduled to lift off on Friday, March 1, at 10:10 a.m. EST from Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. The capsule will be filled with more than 1,200 pounds of scientific experiments and cargo \u2013 and the first copy of \u201cUp In The Air.\u201d <\/strong>Fans can watch the launch at HERE <\/a>. The band will visit Mission Control Houston for a Q&A with Tom Marshburn, one of the astronauts aboard the space station. The Q&A, scheduled for Monday, March 18, will be broadcast live online with details available shortly at www.thirtysecondstomars.com<\/a><\/strong>. \u201cUp In The Air\u201d <\/strong>will premiere worldwide that day and be commercially available at all digital retailers the following day, March 19.<\/p>\n

\u201cUp In The Air\u201d <\/strong>is the first single from the band\u2019s fourth studio record, which will be released later this year. The album follows This Is War<\/em>, which contained the No. 1 Modern Rock radio hits \u201cThis Is War\u201d and \u201cKings and Queens.\u201d In the course of its two-year tour in support of This Is War<\/em>, the band sold out arenas around the globe, playing over 311 shows in nearly 60 countries on six continents to an astounding three million people \u2013 and breaking the Guinness World Record\u00ae for most shows played during a single album cycle. This Is War<\/em> was hailed as \u201can artistic triumph\u201d (Alternative Press<\/em>) and \u201ca shimmering epic\u201d (MTV.com). Entertainment Weekly<\/em> observed: \u201c[Lead singer] Leto doesn\u2019t just shoot for the moon, he practically colonizes it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Thirty Seconds To Mars<\/strong> \u2013 comprising brothers Jared Leto and Shannon Leto as well as Tomo Milicevic \u2013 has sold over 5 million albums worldwide and the band\u2019s videos have more than 300 million views on YouTube. The group has received numerous awards, including a dozen MTV awards worldwide, a Billboard <\/em>Music award and honors from NME, Kerrang!<\/em> and Fuse. Artifact<\/em>, a documentary about the making of This Is War<\/em>, won the People\u2019s Choice documentary award at the 2012 Toronto International Film Festival and the Audience Award at the 2012 Gotham Independent Film Awards.
