Re-Machined: A Tribute to Deep Purple’s Machine Head out now through Eagle Records Via Shock<\/h1>\n

2012 is the 40th anniversary of the release of Deep Purple\u2019s landmark album \u201cMachine Head\u201d. In recognition of Deep Purple\u2019s influence, and that of the \u201cMachine Head\u201d album in particular, some of rock music\u2019s biggest names have each contributed a version of their favorite track on the album to create \u201cRe-Machined \u2013 A Tribute To Deep Purple\u2019s Machine Head\u201d.<\/p>\n

The album features two wildly differing versions of Deep Purple’s most famous track \u201cSmoke On The Water\u201d, one from guitar hero Carlos Santana with vocals by Jacoby Shaddix, and one from alternative rockers Flaming Lips. Metallica<\/strong> have contributed their own special take on \u201cWhen A Blind Man Cries\u201d, a track recorded at the \u201cMachine Head\u201d sessions but originally released by Deep Purple as the B-side to \u201cNever Before\u201d. Also included are\u00a0specially recorded tracks from former Deep Purple Mk III member Glenn Hughes<\/strong> with Chad<\/strong> Smith<\/strong> of Red Hot Chilli Peppers<\/strong>, plus offerings from\u00a0Iron Maiden<\/strong>, Chickenfoot<\/strong>, Black Label Society,<\/strong> Jimmy Barnes<\/strong> & Joe Bonamassa and the \u201csupergroup\u201d Kings Of Chaos.<\/strong><\/p>\n

With Jon Lord, founder of Deep Purple, sadly passing away on July 17 this year, and the 40th anniversary of the classic album “Machine Head”, there has been a renewed interest in the band and their influence on rock music.<\/strong><\/p>\n
