By no means a stranger to the Australian Country Music scene, Newcastle born and bred Morgan Evans looks set to finally capitalise on his musical journey over the past five years, with new EP While We\u2019re Young, <\/em>his first on Warner Music Australia.\u00a0 Led by the modern guitar driven country rock of the title track, the comparisons to another Aussie in Keith Urban will be inevitable, but put simply, if you dig Keith Urban and if you haven\u2019t yet discovered Morgan Evans, wait no longer.\u00a0 While We\u2019re Young <\/em>the song, was co-written with Sarah Buxton who also co-wrote a couple of Urban\u2019s recent – Put You In A Song <\/em>and Stupid Boy<\/em>.\u00a0 With summer on the horizon and a sun drenched film clip to match, While We\u2019re Young<\/em> just screams summer anthem and could easily by lifted off a Keith Urban album.\u00a0 Sweet Home To You <\/em>eases the tempo back a gear, but is no less addictive with a breezy groove.\u00a0 Made For Loving You<\/em> offers a grittier and blusier rock edge and you could refer as the EP\u2019s least immediate track.\u00a0 I was certainly anticipating a couple of ballad\u2019esque numbers on the EP and we get it with Learn To Lose You <\/em>and Carry On. \u00a0<\/em>Both offer Evans a chance to shine vocally, – equal parts warmth, soothing and soulful.\u00a0 Still only 26 years of age, you can expect to hear a lot more of Morgan Evans on the horizon.\u00a0 If you get the chance to see him perform here in Australia, I recommend make the most of it, as it\u2019s surely only a matter of time before the USA beckons on a more permanent basis.<\/p>\n
