\"\"<\/a>NSW Central Coast\u2019s favourite sons\u00a0After The Fall<\/strong>\u00a0return triumphant in 2012, with hard won fourth album\u00a0\u2018Bittersweet\u2019\u00a0<\/strong>and some serious lessons under their collective belt.<\/p>\n

The pop-rock quartet were one of the most successful acts to emerge from the ripe Central Coast punk\/rock scene in the mid-00\u2019s, tunes like \u2018Mirror, Mirror\u2019 and \u2018Concrete Boots\u2019 were radio and live staples for the band, who toured constantly around Australia, garnered much love from triple j and played almost every major festival this wide brown land has to offer.<\/p>\n

After the Fall have spent the years since 2009\u2019s \u2018[In] Exile\u2019, writing with eight feet planted firmly on the ground. Addition of mate Adrian on the skins injected long-lost excitement and (importantly) fun back into ATF. Ensuing songwriting brought back the energy, punch and anger of times past that had made them into formidable live presence.\u00a0 Mostly recorded in houses that guitarist Mark Warner was house-sitting (booya, free electricity!), at their own pace, an image of four blokes recording long hours, sweating in our in their undies isn\u2019t too far from reality.<\/p>\n

Made by the band, for the band, armed with some hindsight and the wisdom of a band that has endured tougher times, \u2018Bittersweet\u2019 is that indeed. It\u2019s the sound of a band taking their own advice, confident in their direction and discretion. What this album, and the future holds for After the Fall remains to be seen, but in their eyes it\u2019s already a success.<\/p>\n
