Australian tour dates sold-out<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0Singer, songwriter, and guitarist extraordinaire\u00a0Gary Clark Jr.<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0has revealed the title and track-listing for his long-anticipated full-length debut album for Warner Bros. Records:\u00a0Blak and Blu<\/em><\/strong>, which will be released on October 19. The album was produced by Mike Elizondo (Dr. Dre, Mastodon, Fiona Apple), Rob Cavallo (Green Day, My Chemical Romance) and Gary Clark Jr.\u00a0 Apart from Clark Jr. on guitar, vocals & trumpet,\u00a0Blak and Blu<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0features performances from drummer J.J. Johnson, keyboardist Zac Rae, and Elizondo on bass on many of the tracks. Please see below for the full album track-listing. The album will be available for pre-order September 24.<\/p>\n

In addition to 12 of Clark\u2019s original compositions,\u00a0Blak and Blu<\/em>\u00a0also features a 13th<\/sup>\u00a0song \u2013 a blistering cover of Little Johnny Taylor\u2019s (popularized by Albert Collins),\u00a0If You Love Me Like You Say \/ Third Stone From The Sun<\/em>\u00a0<\/strong>(Jimi Hendrix) is actually a complete reworking of the song utilizing the Hendrix riff reinterpreted by Clark.\u00a0 The result is an extraordinary hybrid of the two ideas that breathes new fire to an old favorite.<\/p>\n

Clark has been slipping songs from\u00a0Blak and Blu<\/em>\u00a0into his sets while performing at all of this year’s major music festivals, including Bonnaroo, Coachella, Osheaga Festival, Sasquatch!, Lollapalooza, and the NOLA Jazz & Heritage Festival. He was also the\u00a0only artist invited to play both nights of Jay Z’s Made in America Festival<\/strong>\u00a0over Labour Day weekend. Clark\u2019s upcoming US festival performances include\u00a0Bridge School Benefit<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0with label-mates Neil Young & Crazy Horse and Flaming Lips,\u00a0Austin City Limits<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0andVoodoo Fest<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0in New Orleans.<\/p>\n
