\"\"<\/a>LA based pop-punk rockers\u00a0The Dollyrots<\/strong>\u00a0are back with a brand new video for“Hyperactive<\/strong>,“<\/strong>\u00a0the lead single of their upcoming self-titled album. The video is premiering now over at\u00a0ARTISTdirect<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0The Dollyrots<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0will be released\u00a0Sept. 18th\u00a0<\/strong>on\u00a0Storefront Recordings<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Directed by\u00a0independent filmmaker, author and KROQ DJ, Kurt St. Thomas, who teamed up for the first time with Special Effects pioneer James Renald,\u00a0“Hyperactive”<\/strong>is a fun romp that shows just how much you can do with visual effects in today’s world of digital media.<\/p>\n

After a debut album on\u00a0Lookout! Records<\/strong>\u00a0(Eat My Heart Out<\/strong><\/em>) and two albums on\u00a0Joan Jett’s Blackheart Records<\/strong>\u00a0(Because I’m Awesome, A Little Messed Up<\/strong><\/em>)\u00a0The Dollyrots<\/strong>\u00a0decided to go DIY for their new album and launched a wildly successful\u00a0Kickstarter campaign<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0that provided recording funds in exchange for locks of their hair and lots of other fun stuff. The result,\u00a0The Dollyrots<\/strong><\/em>, is a mix of super-slick modern pop, classic three-chord punk rock, and a healthy dose of 80’s new wave. All the sugary, catchy, and aggressive elements that define\u00a0The Dollyrots<\/strong>\u00a0remain, while producer John Fields’ spontaneous and decisive recording style creates an urgency unheard since their first album.<\/p>\n

In addition,\u00a0The Dollyrots’<\/strong>\u00a0music has earned them song placements, commercials, and acting stints in film & TV including Disney \/ Pixar’s\u00a0Brave<\/em>, Hewlett-Packard, Kohls,CSI:NY<\/em>, ABC Family’s\u00a0Greek<\/em>,\u00a0Ugly Betty<\/em>,\u00a0Vampire Diaries<\/em>,\u00a0The Price is Right<\/em>,\u00a0Easy A<\/em>,Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2<\/em>,\u00a0Reaper<\/em>, and\u00a0Bring It On: Fight to the Finish<\/em>, among others.<\/p>\n

The Dollyrots<\/strong>\u00a0will head to the UK in the fall to support\u00a0Bowling For Soup<\/strong>, but you can catch them on their national US tour now with\u00a0Prima Donna<\/a><\/strong>. Full dates are below:<\/p>\n
