High flying Melbourne artists\u00a0OWL EYES<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0STONEFIELD<\/strong>\u00a0are set to join forces for a\u00a0national<\/strong>,\u00a0co-headline<\/strong>\u00a0tour\u00a0this\u00a0August<\/strong>. Under the moniker of\u00a0Winter Road Trip<\/strong>\u00a02012\u00a0<\/strong>the regional tour will promote and support the\u00a0Australian Government initiative\u00a0THE LINE<\/strong>, which \u00a0promotes \u00a0respectful relationships<\/strong>\u00a0among Australia\u2019s\u00a0youth\u00a0<\/strong>and raises\u00a0awareness<\/strong>\u00a0about\u00a0 everything from sexting, texting, and cyber-bullying\u00a0 to\u00a0 inappropriate physical behaviour.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>\u201cIt\u2019s just a great campaign because it\u2019s not preaching anything, it\u2019s just sharing\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>a message of respect and we can do it through music.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>\u2013 Brooke Addamo<\/p>\n

\u00a0Brooke Addamo<\/strong>\u00a0(Owl Eyes) and Stonefield\u2019s\u00a0Findlay sisters<\/strong>\u00a0are the latest musical ambassadors to be enlisted in the\u00a0campaign and will aspire in their roles to spread The Line\u2019s positive message throughout the tour and beyond.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>\u201cIt\u2019s great to use music to help convey a message \u2013 especially a message about\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>respect and just making people aware of it.\u00a0 One of the things I love about music is\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>that you can help people and teach people about things.\u201d<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0– Amy Findlay<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u201cWhen it comes to relationships, you have to have respect. It\u2019s about knowing\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>where to draw the line, making that clear difference between what\u2019s ok and\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>what\u2019s not. It\u2019s about respecting yourself and others<\/em><\/strong>.\u201d\u00a0 – Brooke Addamo<\/p>\n

\u00a0It is the first time the\u00a0Wunderkind<\/strong>\u00a0label sisters have toured together and both artists are excited about\u00a0not only spreading The Line\u2019s message via their music and performance, but also by the anticipation\u00a0of their time on the road together through predominantly regional areas of Australia.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u201c I feel like out in the regional places they don\u2019t\u00a0 always get a lot of live\u00a0 music or get an\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>opportunity to get out to a lot of venues or anything like that so it will be nice to\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>take our music and The Line\u2019s\u00a0 message there and spread it around a bit.\u00a0 It will be\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>quite special.\u201d\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>commented\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0Brooke, Amy added\u00a0\u201cPlaying in a country town makes a big impact it seems\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>like everyone knows What\u00a0 it is going on and they are so appreciative\u00a0 of it.\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>So I feel like the message will make a big impact.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0The five young women, with an average age of less than 19 years hope to utilise their unique\u00a0position in a male-dominated industry to encourage young people to work towards\u00a0changing attitudes and behaviour about violence and relationships.\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0They join previous\u00a0musical ambassadors for The Line\u00a0Pez, Maya Jupiter<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Lisa Mitchell<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u00a0The music industry has traditionally been a difficult environment to navigate, and both artists\u00a0have overcome many obstacles on their way to achieving astounding success in a short amount of\u00a0time whilst still managing to create true and meaningful connections with their youthful fan\u00a0bases – Stonefield won the\u00a0triple J Unearthed High\u00a0<\/strong>competition in 2010 and have played at The Big Day Out\u00a0as well as\u00a0Glastonbury<\/strong>\u00a0(UK); Owl Eyes has embarked on three sold-out national tours,\u00a0key supports for the likes of\u00a0Darwin Deez<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0The Wombats<\/strong>, as well as featuring in triple j\u2019 prestigious<\/p>\n

Next Crop artists for 2012 \u2013 all that with both artists yet to release their debut albums.<\/p>\n
