CITY AND COLOUR announces intimate Australian shows

by
Dallas Green – better known by his moniker City and Colour – will be paying his dedicated Australian fan base a visit this month, for two very special shows in Sydney and Melbourne to promote the release of his new album The Hurry and The Harm. Green has also promised to drop into the triple j studios to reveal details of a huge national tour for later in the year.Following up on his promise to visit his home-away-from-home as soon as humanly possible, Green will play these two intimate Australian showcases at The Standard in Sydney on Wednesday 17th July and Melbourne’s The Toff In Town on Friday 19th July. Playing solo and acoustic for these two rare shows, fans who miss out on tickets won’t have to wait long for details of the national run of shows with the full band to be announced on the same visit.

As these shows will take place in intimate venues and tickets will be in high demand, there will be a strict limit of two (2) tickets per customer. Tickets will be available for purchase through Moshtix 1300 438 849, and over the counter at the usual outlets. To avoid scalping, patrons who purchase tickets will have to arrive on the evening of the show with their guest (if buying two tickets) and present photo ID and the credit card they purchased the tickets with and they will then be given a wristband for entry, which will not be transferrable and cannot be tampered with. Further details will be available on the Moshtix website.

The much-loved Canadian released new album The Hurry and The Harm on 31 May to incredibly warm reviews with Australian Rolling Stone awarding LP number four’s “spacious and shimmering take on modern folk rock” four stars. The album – a delicate exploration of Green’s more understated alt-country influences – debuted at number #4 on the Australian ARIA charts, mere months after his previous effort Little Hellachieved gold status on our shores.

Recorded in Nashville, Tennessee, Green enlisted some of the industry’s most highly regarded instrumentalists to assist on the new effort, employing the incredible talents of Jack Lawrence (Ranconteurs), Bo Koster (My Morning Jacket), Spencer Cullum Jr. (Caitlin Rose), Matt Chamberlain (Pearl Jam, Fiona Apple) and James Gadson (BB King).
