Sandness – Life Without Control (EP)

by

One of the most personally rewarding aspects of May The Rock Be With You, at least for me personally is typified by unearthing a band such as young Italian sleaze rockers, Sandness. Having first heard about them through the number 1 sleaze authority here in Australia, Glam Junkie’s Sleaze Ball (make sure you join up the Facebook page), Sandness are certainly a band on the rise. Life Without Control is a 5 track demo which has so far served it’s purpose in attracting some label interest, which the band are set to capitalise on by heading into the recording studio in December. Sandness deliver a style of sleaze rock that is an energetic cocktail influenced by the likes of 80’s bands Faster Pussycat, Cinderella and L.A Guns, raw and bluesy. If you are from Australia, then think bands such as Sunset Riot, Hell City Glamours and Candy Harlots. With song titles such as Lay Your Hair Down, Drinkin’ Wine Under The Bridge and Artificial Lover, lyrically, you already know what you are in for. With this EP offering a tantalizing taste of what Sandness are capable, combined with an apparent work ethic and wanting to spread the Sandness name far and wide, I watch with interest and await to hear what the time spent in the studio recording their debut album produces.
